I played with the kids all days yesterday and Ella really wanted to play "Mary and Joseph". So, she put on some dress up, stuck a baby in her dress, sat side saddle on Bradley's rocking horse and asked me to pull her to the town of Bethlehem. I would drag her on the rocking horse across the room (she was pretending it was a donkey) and she would repeat over and over, "Oh Joseph, this is such a long journey.........or.......I think tonight is the night Joseph". Bradley was the inn keeper and Jameson was the little drummer boy! It was a lot of fun. This morning when we went to school she told me that she was tired still from the long journey! In my head I was thinking..."at least you weren't pulling the donkey all day", but I didn't say it! Instead I kissed her goodbye and thought about how nice it was to have her home with me for 2 weeks over Christmas break. It was kind of sad to take her back to school today.
Bradley received some camping gear for Christmas from grandpa and grandma, so yesterday I took them out to play with his little explorere kit he got and we set up the tent. Scott and I got the kids little sleeping bags this year so I could camp out with them sometimes in the toy room, so we brought it all out and played. We even ate our dinner outside in the tent together. Bradley is also very much into his new construction gear and toys.
Jameson has been sick a lot lately with colds and viruses, so he has been like an attachment in my arms. It's the first time I think I have ever heard the kid fuss and it is so cute because he tries to be happy and smile even when he's not feeling well.
Ella said it right...2010 was a "Long journey". The year was filled with some big events like a few big health scares, moving into a new home, the birth of our third son, etc. I feel like the year just passed us by again! However, even with all of the challenges and stresses that we were faced with this year, I still feel overwhelmingly blessed by God. I can't wait to continue this journey through 2011 and pray that we may all find ourselves closer to God and his unconditional love! Here are a few recent pics of the kids!
Happy New Year!
